Food Photography

My Food photography is on a selective variety of foods. I took pictures of two warm meals that are chicken nuggets and fries and a Swiss cheese eggs croissant. Then I did two snacks most people love which was a donut and a smore. And the last ones I did was a banana split with brownies and reeses peanut butter ice cream and a cup of chocolate milk with whip topped with Hershey chocolate syrup. I like the details and clarity of the pictures especially the focus on them.

BECOME SOMEONE ELSE CHALLENGE

This campaign, "Become Someone Else" by the Lithuanian Agency called Love for Mint Vinetu.
"When one reads books, he/she starts living it and identifies (or not) with main hero. These print ads for the Mint Vinetu bookstore, which sells lots of classics, focuses on the idea of becoming someone else. And provokes people to try on different personas."

Taking the pictures were not as hard as finding a book that could fit a person's face. I like the theme because it holds many different possibilities.

WaterMark

Dypitch IPOD

In this series at first he just has the ipod and is scrolling for music. The effect is him listening to the music through a pair of huge headphones. I like the lighting becuase both pictures match skin tone.

Dypitch S.A.T.

I like the overall theme because many people can relate to and especially people in high school. This picture is very basic though it gets the point across. You study way too much sometimes and tend to give up becuase you pushed your self way to hard.

Dypitch Air Horn

I like that the background is the same color and you cannot tell it apart though they are two different pictures. I also like how the skin tone are close and or almost the same. The theme is very unique and is simply identified. This happens everyone eventually when someone tries to figure out what something might be and it suprises them.

Tennis Ball Series

I chose to use a Tennis Ball as my object because you can use it to show action. I like this potrait because it has a black background and the Tennis ball is bright which makes it stick out. This potrait shows people caught in the moment of action.

Favorite Photo Series by Jonathan Hobin

“In the playroom”, a Photo Series by Jonathan Hobin, a Photographer from Canada.
Joanthan Hobin is a photographer from Canada. He made a series called "In the Playroom" which is all about children playing. He kept the location for most of the pictures inside a playroom where the children are photographed. In the series some of the kids are dressed like kids and others are dressed like adults and different type of people.
What I like about this series is that it incoporates a little humor with the children having serious faces instead of be happy while playing. Another thing I liked is that in every picture the kids are dressed differently.

Favorite Picture

This is my favorite picture. I like this picture because it makes my headphones look bigger then they are. I also like that its at a leveled angle and how the picture cuts off the headphones at the top.

Surrealist Photo Montage

My theme was based on being "stuck in the past" and to represent that there is a time in night where everything is froze in time. Then I got a NJ turnpike sign to represent the direction in which the car is headed and labeled it the future. The 2 grandfather clocks and the middle clock represent time travel or something like a time machine. It is something everyone wishes they had in one point of there life because they either been living in the past or would like to change something they regretted doing in the past. I chose a fast sports car because time flys and it goes by quicker then we realize sometimes. Last is the gold circular thing by the clock its the thing that some clocks have to shut the alarm off, I chose to put that there because when the alarm goes off you realize that the present becomes the past and that time doesn't last.

Surrealism Theme

The theme im going to be "living in the past." It is going to show a person living in the past or a person frozen in time while everything around him is moving at a fast paste and not slowing down for anything. The person is going to feel left in the dust. Somehow I would like to incorporate a time machine to show time passing and also something like a black whole to show that nothing good can come of it. Overall there is going to be alot going on in the picture to get the vibe of it all being overwhelming.

Recreating Childhood

Surreal Artist Inspirations

Joan Miro was born in 1893 on April 20th in Barcelona. He was a painter, sculptor, and ceramist. He began drawing classes at the age of seven.  In 1907 he enrolled at Fine Art academy. He had his first solo show in 1918 at the Dalmau Gallery. He then settled in Paris and finished the paintings that he had started at his parent’s farm.  One of the paintings was called “The Farm” which was a transition of his own style.  In the summer of 1923 Miro began his work with surrealism. Miro died from heart disease on December 25, 1983.
Martin Stranka was born on Friday the 13th 1984 in Czech Republic. Lived in Litomerice for 20 years and had also graduated high school there.  He went to college but never studied photography but was involved since 2007. He perceives photography as a unique space located in a balance and serenity. In the last two years he has gathered over thirty international photography awards and he also has created book covers for the biggest NY publishers.

 Artist: Joan Miro
Title: The Tilled Field
Date: 1923-1924
Description: There is repetition in the photo in different places. Repetition is located in the curves at the bottom, the tree branches, and what looks like stairs on the right. There is a leading line with the curves. There are different shapes everywhere including animals on the farm. There are also flags in the painting as well.
Analysis:  His art work is composed of what he remembers from his past when living on the farm with his parents. Certain objects are dark but the background is light so the objects stand out. There is about two layers one takes up 2/3 of the left side and the other is on the right.
Interpretation:  The artist is trying to state through his paintings that when he was back home on the farm there was always so much going on. It would never be a time where he was bored or alone.
Judgment: I think over all the art work is unique but I feel certain things are unnecessary and don’t fit in the picture.  The curved lines towards the bottom and the dark side on the right side don’t fit because it could be replaced with better object.

Artist: Martin Stranka
Title: But I would
Date: 2009
Description: There is a person in the middle of the whole picture and the light is shining upon him. You can see the dust. The value of the light is bright because the surrounding is dark.
Analysis:  The artwork is surrounded by darkness but is has certain points and lines of brightness.  There are no layers. The balance is determined by the light that is let in.
Interpretation: This art piece is a moment dreaming and awakening. It means that the light is finally upon you, and it is your time to shine.  If it was possible you could do whatever you had to achieve anything even though no one is on your side you walk on a lonely road.
Judgment: I like this photo. The best thing I like about the photo is the light and the fact this kind of photo could have a few different meaning so it get you to think. Over all I like this photo because it is creative.
These two artists are the total opposite. Martin Stranka does not have much going on unlike Joan Miro that has so much going on. So therefore they are both about 2 different topics. The technique is opposite as well because Miro has a light back round making the object dark for it to pop out unlike Stranka who has a dark background making the person lightly pop out. They both have different styles and like to represent different things.

Where I'd Rather Be

This is where I'd rather be. I would like to be on top of everything and not even let King Kong get in my way.  Overcome all my fears and get around all obstacles.

Partner Potrait

This is a photo of me and Jamil incorporated in the cast of the movie FAST FIVE. This photo looks like we have our head up high and are ready to go and face whatever might stand in our path.

Artistic Inspirations

Mister Cartoon
I chose Mister Cartoon and his tattos because the way that he designs it makes the tatoo just blend all over, sorda of placing objects in certain places and making them fit in.

 Donut
This is a painting done by an artist named Banksy, I chose him because he incorporated comedy in his art for example cops are stereo typed for eating donuts.
Shepard Fairey
I chose this artist because the colors he chooses go together well, and also the way he uses 2 different colors right next to each other or on top.
Eddie Murphy
This painting was done by Steve Nyman and i like how he takes celebrities and incorporates something funny as well in the picture.

Keith Haring
I like how this artist can make such simple objects pop out or send a message.
